Giant Chicken Nugget 11/08/2011
Going through a fast food drive thru and Nate contemplates what he wants to order. I am starving, we'd been on the road all day and I just want to get something in my stomach. Definitely should have packed some cut up carrots like Kevin Fredericks. Anyway, we pull up to order. I order something and he asks if there is a 4 piece nugget. The attendant says yes and Nate blurts out "eeehhh, no I'll just take a chicken sandwhich." We get our food, park, and eat. I notice Nate fidgeting around a lot and look to see what he's doing. He says he's going to eat it vegetarian style. WHAT?? You just ordered a chicken sandwich. He takes the chicken patty out and closes the sandwhich with just a piece of lettuce and some mayo in it. He scarfs that down and picks up the patty and bites into it. I crack up laughing....basically this fool cancels the order of chicken nuggets so he can have ONE big ass nugget.  Nate and I were in the car on our way back from the airport and we see a boy riding his bike across a busy intersection; Nate says that his dad always told him to not wear headphones while he was on a bike or skateboard or anything. It automatically made me think of something I saw on the news a while back. I ask him if he heard about the girl and the railroad tracks. He said he hadn’t so I continued to tell him the girl was picking up coins that people would place on the tracks to get flattened by the trains and she was listening to her ipod with her headphones, she didn’t hear the train, was hit and instantly died. He was quiet and looking down at his phone. I wondered if he heard me, “Nate, did u hear me?” he then said "soooooo….that bitch died (pause) for .37 cents?????” I was rolling... laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. Then he said "it probably wasn't even $.37." Of all the things he could think of, that’s where his thoughts went. Smh. - Allyn TEAM NATE 10/19/2011
For years Nate has obviously had his share of fans. There were several people that would not even miss a show no matter what they had to cancel in their schedule or how far the location was. They would spread the word and coined themselves as Nate's biggest fans. They'd hear some jokes over and over and over and would genuinely laugh like they heard it for the first time because Nate's deliverance of jokes is hilarious in itself. Around summer of last year (2010) Nate mentioned the movie Twilight while on stage; asking who was Team Edward and who was Team Jacob, ending with something close to "fuck that, ya'll are Team Nate." Because of this The next set of shirt he made said "Team Nate" and his most loyal and biggest fans were proud to call themselves TEAM NATE. Since then we've happily supported him at his shows and behind the scenes. Our family is amazing. With Nate being absolutely everywhere these days, from Tacoma, to LA to Japan we try to follow him as many places as we can. On top of that we have meetings to talk about the next big (or small) event and we put time aside to just be together. We're ALWAYS laughing. We Love Nate!
